Hugo Lioret is a French sound artist, PhD researcher and mediator based in Paris. His work encompasses electroacoustic composition, free improvisation, audiovisual performances, music for fixed medias, sound in situ through digital processes, field recording and modular approaches. 

Hugo Lioret has published several musical works, questioning the relationship between art, technology and ecology. In addition to his artistic practice, Hugo Lioret is regularly involved in cultural mediation projects. In particular, he has worked with Ensemble 2e2m, INA GRM, La Muse En Circuit, GMEM and Alliance Française Rotterdam, to highlight the importance of listening and sound creation in educational contexts. 

As a PhD researcher, he is pursuing a sociomusicological action-research project based on bio-inspiration under the supervision of Hyacinthe Ravet (IReMus, Sorbonne University). His academic work includes reflections on field recording as a musical practice and its role as a tool for music mediation. Hugo has developed his relationship to sound in particular with Mathias Delplanque, Henri Landré at JetFM, Hervé Bouley at Radio France, at the Institute of Sonology in The Hague and with Gerriet K. Sharma at Spæs Lab Berlin.
